Spacewalk

Spacewalk

It is a term used to describe a trip taken by astronaut outside a spacecraft when it is in space.

Also called ‘EVA’, an acronym for Extra-Vehicular Activity, or ‘moonwalk’ if the craft is on lunar mission.

Spacewalk is undertaken in order to perform various tasks. For example, astronauts conduct science experiments in space to study how the space environment affects results.

They repair satellites while they are in orbit, preventing the need to bring them back to Earth and also test new equipment.
