Kleptomania
Kleptomania is a type of impulse control disorder.
A kleptomaniac
steals things he does not need or cannot use, being unable to resist the
impulse to steal. He does not even know why he is stealing the thing he has
taken.
Psychiatrists
consider kleptomania a symptom of mental illness.
Kleptomania is relatively rare in the
general population, with about 0.3%-0.6% of people experiencing this condition.
